Created in December 2015, the Police Accountability Task Force was charged with developing comprehensive findings with specific recommendations for change in the short, interim and long-term within the Chicago Police Department. The Task Force took an unsparing look at tough issues. The goal of the Task Force’s work was to elevate integrity and accountability as the primary values that drive every member of the Chicago Police Department. Through Task Force working groups and an open, accessible community engagement process, the Task Force developed pragmatic and transparent recommendations that every Chicago resident can see and assess.
